Karina Castillo, 29, of Pine Hill, was killed in the crash on Black Horse Pike near High Bank Road on Wednesday, Apr. 3, the Township of Hamilton Police Department said in a news release. Four adults and a child were hospitalized after the wreck.

Township of Hamilton police responded to a three-car crash at around 2:15 p.m. Investigators said a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 30-year-old Voorhees man and a 2011 Honda Civic driven by Castillo "made contact" while driving west on Black Horse Pike.

The contact caused Castillo's Honda to cross the median and she was hit by an oncoming 2015 Ford Fusion driven by a 40-year-old Hammonton woman. Castillo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chevy driver, Ford driver, and two passengers were brought to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City with non-life-threatening injuries. A child passenger also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was sent to Cooper University Medical Center.

This is the second deadly crash on this stretch of Black Horse Pike between the Penny Pot and Weymouth communities in about a week. A 22-year-old woman was killed in a crash on Thursday, Mar. 28.

The NJDOT said a utility pole was knocked down by the crash and traffic was diverted for several hours.
